Went to work on my ‘40 Chevy truck today. It’s far from home so I don’t get out there much. But by the looks of things, that Chevy straight 6 motor is gonna make a fine boat anchor as well!!!
A good boat anchore it would make. lol, There is a lot of peopple who want that engine. Just look up web sites and fined the wanted add. Im sure you could double your profit on it.
I wont throw it in the trash, I promise. I’ve been told that flathead V8’s make great boat anchors. LOL
Seriously, I have no idea what to do with the flathead. Probably sell it for more then I paid for everything!
great deal, but dont put that engine in a garbage. Im more of an original kind of person. thats just how I like to keep things. But nothing wrong with a rat rode either. The main reason why people put Chevy engines in most other automakes cause its cheap, reliable, power. I trust fords as much as any others else. My 1999 Taurus has 265,000 miles on it with original engine and trans with no rebuilds. It all boils down to maintenance.
I have a ‘67 Dodge A100 that’s my daily driver.
I also am working on getting running an unrestored 1940 Chevy half ton pick up.
And am proud to state that I recently purchased a 1930 Ford Model A truck cab and bed, and misc parts, including an old forgotten, but complete, V8 flathead. ALL for $500!!!
@cffnmkr13 I been just as satisfied with fords as much as Chevy and Chrysler. I rather have a ford anyways because I dont want a Government Motors car. Aint nothing wrong with 32 ford Flathead or a 350 Chevy or the hemi. A true car guy would like any automobile. I have the same passion for all of them. even foreign cars.
yeah, my buddy built a dodge on ford axles, but with a pontiac engine/trans, chevy headlights, and tail lights from an amc gremlin. lol, he called it “halfbreed”
Found this quote, very well said. “Each auto maker has made some great cars and trucks and some not so great cars and trucks. In hot rodding we pick and choose what we want in a vehicle. We build our rides as unique as ourselves. If we choose to build a Ford body on a Chevy frame with a Chrysler engine, and we attach Cadillac tail lights and Studebaker headlights, then so be it. This is our artwork, and to fit all these parts together in an eye appealing manner takes imagination and skill.”
worlds worst top chop winner

@acres90
For reliability! ya can’t trust a Ford motor, but you can a chevy engine!
@EdwardPack1988
Correction there, Ford motors need to remain in the garbage where they belong!

we sold our 1935 an 37
chevy engines needs to stay in a chevy and ford engines need to stay in a ford.
haha what body work? but if you are working on it your self you are going to be saving time and money
my point…you’re gonna spend all that money doing body work and such and then build a chevy engine to save a couple hundred bucks
seriously, its just easier on the pocket and time to fix it
lame excuse but ok
easier to work on
